Project Success Visit MAAH
Led by 100 member, Caleb Rutledge, students of Project Success at Southeastern High School, traveled to the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. For some, it was their first trip ever to the museum. The young men were treated to a personalized guided tour by "Ms Andrea". She was able to lead the students from the remains of a female over three thousand years old, thru Africans middle passage, onto the "Black Bottom" era in Detroit and beyond. The well mannered group gave the 100BM chaperones, Marcus Harris, Don Ferguson, Tom Worford, Bill Middlebrooks and Caleb an easy time of it. Students were treated to meal at Wendy's (E. Jefferson location) hosted by mamager Kathy Dewalt. She and her staff said they "welcomed the opportunity to serve fine young men". In addition to serving the young men, Ms Dewalt received two proposals for marriage. Though flattered, she told the students, they have a lot of the world to see and things to accomplish, such as education, before marriage. Click here for photos.
