100 Black Men of Greater Detroit's Oratorical Contest for DPS was exciting to the very end.  Seven semi-finalist gave their all competing for over $140,000 in college scholarship, book stipends, and cash.  Overal winner Marcus Carey of Renaisance High School, says "I was prepared" but a little nervous as the competition was very competitive.  Runners up Maurice Hunt(Cass Tech) and Kelly Showers(Detroit City High) say they are thankful for the opportunity to show what they can do and look forward to continuing their speaking skills in college.  Special thanks to the participating colleges and universities:  EMU, WMU, MSU, UDM, & Olivet.  To view photos of the contest please click here.
