Speaking with Confidence & Excellence - The 100 Black Men of Greater Detroit are proud to announce our 14th Annual “Speaking with Confidence and Excellence” Oratorical Contest for high schools seniors in both Detroit Public Schools and Detroit Charter Schools. This program is designed for students to gain experience in public speaking and provide them with the opportunity to compete for college scholarships, textbook monies and cash awards.
This year we will award over $70,000 to students who participate in this year’s event scheduled for May 8th at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. We’ve modified our program this year to also include up to $5000 for the purchase of school supplies to be awarded in the name of the winning participants to their respective schools!
