Gentle summer breezes, calm waters, wonder music and great food, these short phases describe the setting for the 100 Black Men of Greater Detroit, evening aboard the luxury yacht the Infinity   Saturday evening, July 31^st.  Members, spouses, significant others, friends and supporters of the Detroit Chapter gathered at the Jefferson Beach Marina at 6:00 PM to begin a leisurely cruise up the Detroit River, near Belle Isle.  The sounds of the ships DJ permeated the night air as the guests enjoyed the upbeat tempo of his varied music and all demonstrated their skills in a variety of line and other dances.

The upper cabin served as the center of activity for refreshing appetizers, and cool summer drinks, while the lower cabin provided the setting for the main dinning room for the sumptuously prepared dinner.  In addition it provided a more relaxed atmosphere for conversation, a vantage point for viewing the passing summer waterscapes, and some of the member couples took advantage of the fore and after decks to spend some quiet moments together.

The evening concluded with chocolate covered strawberries and a wonderful collection of pastries and chocolate delights, as the yacht returned to its slip at Jefferson Beach.  As the ships company left the ship each of the chapters female guests were presented with a rose, as a token of the organization and a reminder of the 100 BMGD evening cruise.  I hope this brief article brings fond memories to those who attended, and serves as an enticement for those who did not, to come along to future 100 BMGD member events.Enjoy the balance of your summer.
