Thomas (Tom) Worford is the Owner and President of ENGINEERED BUILDINGS, INC., a contracting firm operating in southeastern Michigan.  Worford began the business in 1988 after working for Butler Manufacturing Company for over 18 years in engineering, sales and marketing.  Butler is the world’s leader in the sales of pre-engineered metal buildings.

Worford, has led his company to numerous awards such as: High Performance Builder (15) times, Self-Storage Builder of the Year, Butler Million Dollar Club and has been earned a Career Butler Builder award given only to the top 10% of Butler builders worldwide.  ENGINEERED BUILDINGS, INC. is the only African American owned Butler Builder worldwide.

Worford continues to be involved in the community, as a Board member and former president of 100 Black Men of Greater Detroit, Inc.; past District West Chairman of the Detroit Area Council of Boy Scouts of America; Junior Achievement in school facilitator; Merrill Lynch Detroit External Advisory Board member; and attends Hartford Memorial Baptist Church.

Thomas and his wife Carolyn, and their children now reside in metro Detroit area after relocating from Kansas City.   Tom continues personally mentoring youth through the 100 Black Men Sports Buddies program with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
